- Ventrilo is a very nifty little program that allows Crossroads MUSH players to chat via voice over the net, and is a lot of fun. We have several regular users, and you are welcome to join us!
- Requirements:
- Microphone and speakers (headset with microphone works great)
- Download the Ventrilo Client.
- Once you run the program, you'll be able to see 'Username' at the top of the window. Click the button arrow and click 'New' and then just make yourself a Username. Most of us use either our RL names or names from the MUSH. Once that is done, click OK to leave and we'll move on to the button below, to set up the server. Click 'New' to make a new one, then enter the details below:
- Server: stream.localecho.org
- Or you can use 213.180.84.56
- You don't need a password to join as a guest, but Kindael (on the game) can set you up with one later if needed! Finally, set 'Crossroads' as the default channel. Click 'OK' and you should be able to select the new server settings you just made from the drop-down menu, as well as your username from the menu above. Nearly there!
- Finally, click the arrow button next to Bindings. Click new, and name the key anything, like... Hotkey. Save it, select on the drop-down menu, and then click 'add'. In the menu it gives you, click 'PTT Adavanced' (This is the key you will push so people can hear you). Then just press the key you want to use. (Suggestion: right control key). It'll show up. Then just click ok. Then sign onto the channel, and you should be able to talk by pressing and holding right control!
