Diuturnal is one of the moons of the world of Ikol, wherein the Empire of Gateway is found.

Diuturnal is also the IC name for Di Nietz, who has had a rather limited career in mushing. She started mushing in 1993 on ImagE Castle, which splintered in 1995, spawning Castle D'Image through some of the usual tension and drama that characterized online environments in the 90's (and yes, still does sometimes). After a couple of hiatuses, she became the headwiz of Castle D'Image, stayed in that role for a bit, and finally retired from it on January 1, 2006. At that time, she was advisory staff to the fledgling Crossroads, but was very adamant that she was never, ever going to be staff again and just wanted to play her characters and GM some.

Fate had different plans. Di had roomed with Loki for ten years when Loki died, and at that time she stepped on to the staff at Crossroads by the request of Amoret. Why? Because it was extraordinarily important to her to see Loki's dream succeed. Shortly after Amoret became swamped by RL, and Diuturnal took over as Headwiz.

It's been a strange path, to say the least, and this isn't where she wanted to be. However, she consistently says that if there is a staff that's a joy and blessing to work with more than any other in 9 years of adminning, it's the staff Crossroads has right now.
