Background
Nikolaz was born around the shipyards of Draught and raised there as well by a couple who claimed to be his aunt and uncle. He began sailing early, and soon became regular fixture of the not-entirely-reputable seafaring community. Though not adverse to hard or honest work, he was also not above breaking the law if it meant a few extra gold or a bit of fun (preferably both). When the Barrier was opened in 501 he shipped out on one of the first ships and didn't return for nearly five years. The details of his journeys outside Gateway are not yet known, but it can be assumed he spent most of that time bouncing from port to port and ship to ship, always on the lookout for that next score.
Events
- In late July, 506, Nikolaz arrived in the port of Gateway as captain of the schooner In Flagrante Delicto, and unloaded a diverse cargo from outside the barrier.

- He seems to have a taste for flashy jewelry, often seen wearing multiple necklaces, bracelets, and/or rings, and is almost never without at least one needlessly shiny earring.
- Captains and apparently owns a three masted square-rigged schooner of international make - it's a Tyrean design, but some of the modifications are slightly unusual and almost certainly foreign.
- Has multiple tattoos. The most commonly visible are those on his right arm, though he'll happily show off others if asked.
