History
Grace Diakos' history begins somewhere in the dark of Medusa's Graveyard, an accursed place decried even by the Mistians themselves. The Graveyard's greatest fame lies in the horrific, lifelike statues of men and women peppering its territory. Myth claims these were the tormented servants or slaves of a demon prince, though none truly know their origins, a mystery not dissimilar to Grace herself.
It's believed she was one of three children to survive the butchering of the Order of Revivification, a small mystical order devoted to discovering a means to transform the statues back to life. Stolen away, she was discovered howling in pain on the beach near Crossroads, Gateway, late in November 505 A.G. with two other infants. Her rescuers quickly assessed she had been grafted by demonic skin and lay near to death, but the intervention of magic spared her life as it could not the others, too far gone in their pain.
Serenity Guybrush, Lady of Shadrach's Folly, assumed care for the young girl despite much protest to the contrary given Grace's questionable origins and possible future complications. An unsuccessful search to discover any remaining relatives leaves the girl's future in limbo, though Lady Guybrush remains her official guardian. And privately, it's said she has a watchful eye trained upon her from the clandestine Mistian house famed as demon hunters as well...
Personality
Grace is just a baby who has endured no little trauma in her short months of life. She is slowly adjusting to the tender care of nannies and attentive servants tasked by Lady Serenity to give her as normal a life as possible. Her major achievements are sleeping through the night and teething.
Timeline
- 23 October 508: Grace Diakos dies in the aftermath of the Great Schism.
- 18 February 506: Serenity Guybrush gains permission from Duke Mists to be Grace's permanent guardian.
- 10 January 506: Kyrie Mezelien unofficially becomes her backup guardian. Good luck, kid.
- 9 January 506: Serenity Guybrush unofficially becomes her guardian.
- 16 December 505: First two bottom teeth come in within a day of each other.
- 22 November 505: Discovered by Serenity Guybrush, Lark Othermorn and others on the beach.
