Drake Augustus Julian Ravensford

Drake Ravensford, once known as Baron Moonshadow, had been thought dead. When he returned from a long hiatus with tales of kingdoms and folk living beneath the waves to the great oceans, some thought him brave.. others though him mad, or a fool. Summarily stripped of his nobility by those who had thought him dead, the baron seemed not the least bit disturbed by the development. His passions lay in new and different directions. Wedded as he had been to Moonshadow, he could not have given up such a position lightly. Would could cause a man to cede power, position and prestige... what treasure would be worth such a thing?

Nearly 38 years old, now, Drake has continued to hone his already powerful Illusion magics. How else could he have faked his own death, if indeed that was what occurred? Married at 20 to the daughter of a Draughtian astronomer, then widowed at 25 when his wife and son died in a tragic fire, Drake has led a difficult life. But he has come so far since then. Astute, gifted with a real nature for magic and an inexhaustible thirst for arcane knowledge and artifacts, the former Baron is largely respected, if somewhat misunderstood. He is friendly enough when engaged directly, but prefers, more often than not, to keep to himself. He still uses his formidable powers of Illusion to cloak the burn scars upon parts of his body, and the jagged remains of a cut once inflicted on his cheek as he was pulled to safety from the fire.

Drake has been gone for some time now, having left Mists and Gateway again within the last year. It is rumored that he has returned to his place amongst the ocean folk. No one knows when (or if) he will return.
