Denali ui Niall
Raised in the popular summer vacationing lands of much of the Guardian nobility, young Denali never did lack for playmates. Even if much of the year was spent with her younger brother, Padraig, and many cousins -- for Guardians tend towards large families -- she found herself with other noble children to spend her time with during the summers.
That is not to say that the heir to Caer Carthartha had plenty of free time. She did, to an extent, but much of her time was filled with learning the ways of the Lordship. Not only were there matters of business to learn: the laws, the finances, and the other peculiarities of running a household and the lands, but she also had to learn the ways of a warrior. It was to this that Denali did take quite well, though not as much so as her brother.
As she grew, she proved herself capable on many fronts and more than worthy of the title of heir. And though some have often wondered why she was not found a husband at a younger age, they only had to see the stubborn young woman in the midst of combat to understand why. She would never settle for a man that she did not herself choose. And it has been said that whoever does win her heart must also prove himself upon the battlefield. Not that she desires a stronger man, per say, but that she requires one who is strong enough.
While the civil war raged, her father took ill. Padraig led the troops as the battlefield found itself upon their lands, while Denali saw to the matters of house. Her mother, still quite in love with her husband, could not bear to leave his side. It was in the deep of winter that the previous Lord of Caer Carthartha passed away and his wife, heartbroken, followed soon after. It was with a heavy heart that Denali took up the mantle left to her.
Though she worked with her brother to see an end to the civil war and things put right once more, she still largely secluded herself to the lands themselves. Not entirely, mind, as on more than a few occasions did she take to the battlefield herself. So while the people came to know her name and warmly accept her as their Lady... few outside of Dun Artan knew much of anything about the woman now steward over Caer Carthartha. Thus, a bit over a year after her father's passing, Denali left the lands in her brother's capable hands as steward as she went to Gateway. To reforge old alliances as well as make new and keep up the contacts her father had made.
Current Happenings and Events
So recently arrived in Gateway is she, that Denali has yet had a chance to do little more than situate herself in the Court Wing of the palace.
Personality
At a glance, Denali would seem fairly uptight and cold. She speaks usually in lofty tones and while she is not picky about who she socializes with, she often seems to place herself above orders. Though not notably Purist, she seems to avoid more lewd conversations as if she were.
However, this is all merely a shell. When relaxed, the Lady is much more at ease. Smiles come more easily, as do words that mark her as a Guardian through and through. She does not pass up a chance -- even when closed -- to make it known her love for the battlefield.
Relationships
Denali is close with her brother, Padraig. Beyond him, she has seemed to refrain from making any close relationships with others, thus far.
