Overview

Together with her twin brother, Larimar, Citrine is the heir to Sorcery's Crest, the youngest children of Carnelian and Aventurine Montaigu, possessing the oddities, charisma, and propensity for strange names that the Montaigu line is known for.

When she had reached Journeyman level in the magical sphere of Scrying two years ago, the violet-eyed woman's bare hands never touched any surface; she was always seen wearing a pair of gloves. Citrine was also rarely seen parted with her twin after she finished her exploration of Mists and joined him in Gateway. She had participated in most of Larimar's adventures, if not as an active member, then as an observer, having relegated herself to his support whenever he undergoes a trying ordeal. After her failure in aiding the Kraken Shoals investigation in any significant way, she had opted to return to Mists to further cultivate her talents in the area.

And then, disaster struck....

Personality

Quieter and less socially adept than her twin brother, Larimar, Citrine as a child tended to devote herself wholly to her studies in the magical arts. Despite this however, she didn't lack the infamous Montaigu charm... in fact, some male admirers in the past had often declared that the soft, but direct way in which she spoke and that untouchable sort of mystique imbued in her air and movements only heightened her appeal (much to Larimar's chagrin). She is in no means awkward, however, despite being the silvery backdrop to the sunburst of her twin brother's openly gregarious personality, as she is comfortable in both as a solitary creature or within a group. When she speaks, she makes an effort to make it count, a habit that sometimes gives others the impression of her being somewhat aloof and unfeeling when nothing could be further from the truth.

She is markedly different when she is around her family, regarding her relatives (notably Lazuli) with a caring, warm fondness. She genuinely looks up to her sister as well as her talented relatives, and she bears her name as part of House Montaigu with a certain, genteel pride. There is no one in Ikol, however, who knows her as well as Larimar, who isn't just her twin, but also her best friend and closest confidant.

Above all, there is a bit of a change from those who knew her before, and despite the quiet, pensive nuances that dominate her persona, these days, there is an intensity simmering below the surface, of a degree bordering on ferocious, however delicately caged by her petite body.

Trivia

  • Like her brother, Citrine can be a bit of a fashionista. She follows the latest trends in clothing and accessories with a discerning eye, and isn't above starting a few trends herself.
  • Citrine has kept a journal since she was old enough to write, ranging from personal, day-to-day activities to educational notes and discoveries about the magical arts.
  • Like her brother, Larimar, Citrine is proficient in playing the piano, and in their youth, the two of them have performed together using the same instrument. She has since branched out, adding the harp and has proven herself to be a talented soprano. These performances are usually limited to close friends and family.
  • Citrine has a fondness for china painting and has taken to painting delicate patterns on porcelain to unwind.

Relationships

Addison Brandivere: An old classmate, with an intriguing past and a warm demeanor.

Kyrie Mezelien: Another friend.

Larimar Montaigu: How can one express in words a relationship like this? Her twin, her other half, Larimar completes her. With him by her side, she knows everything will be okay.

Lachesis Erastothenes: A good friend, Citrine thinks that she is a good influence on her brother, and approves of the pair's romance.

Tourmaline Montaigu: Citrine believes that her cousin has turned her back on the glorious tradition of the Montaigu family to pursue her career as a jeweler, and the relations between the two are icy at best. They do not speak.

Aude Sapere

Aude Sapere (aka the "Mistian Brat Pack") started out as a small study group that Citrine quietly started during her first year at Gateway University. It has then blossomed into an all-out social club of sorts, comprised of very young, wealthy and/or connected Mistians of like age. What has become a group established for academics and intellectual discourse has also become one for discussions on culture - from wine tastings to the latest productions and art gallery showings around the Isles. Good taste and fashion sense are paramount and required in all members, this is Citrine we're talking about here, after all.

(OOC: At present this is an attempt to jumpstart University RP again)
