Wont they be impressed, I am a genius. See how I transform this old rat into a most delightful hat. - Harlequin Demon (Nightmare Before Christmas)

| Personality
She tends to be rather shy and jumpy around nobility. She can be nice to most anyone. Sometimes there is a hint of underlying darkness, but it is very rare. Not overly religious she does not ever really talk of Providence, she seems a little jaded about the entire idea, but at the same time does not deny anything as such exists. Men hardly can be trusted, she will be friends with them, but never fully trust them.

| History
Born in the slums; Carina has clawed her way to where she is now. She ran away from a family life that was rather neglectful as there were far too many children. Her parents did not believe in birth control, as their belief was if Providence did not want them to have children, then She would not allow them to have more. She is the second of her surviving 10 brothers and sisters. Her father and her brother are known to frequent the seedier bars in town, and are also known for not being so great at gambling. Her mother through some accident, when Cari was five, has continually been a bit absent-minded. When her mother had another child that passed, Cari was told to take it to the rubbish heap. Something snapped in the 12 year old girl and she ran with the dead child out of the city walls. When she returned in the morning, she did not go home, instead she looked around for anyone who would take her in. What she found herself was a cheap apprenticeship to a hatter who was in need of someone who could actually copy a pattern and make a hat to sell. And so her journey to independence began. She scrimped and saved her way, never spending more than she had to before leaving the apprenticeship. If pressed about her childhood she will talk of this time more than before it, saying only that the lady was not the best at what she did and had a lot of restrictions of her. After leaving the woman, Carina had saved enough to buy herself a modest hat shop to start up life on her own.

| In the now
After acquiring her new shop, she started to get out more, and found herself to start coming alive again (so to speak). Soon after her path landed her next to Samuel Lancaster and she spent the next few months seeing him. She was witness to his untimely demise in late June of 505, but only from shore. After that she seemed to come out of her shell a little more, most likely due to the comradery found from fighting a bunch of skeletons, after she punched a necromancer. Now she just works and takes care of a ward she somehow landed, along with Caspian and Katie Fernwick, Mae Tarkan is a bright point for her. She also somehow acquired a dog that outweighs her by at least fifty pounds, affectionately named Dormouse, because he is more of an overly large door stop sort of protector dog. November 4th, 506, Caspian announces that he is sending Mae away and she will no longer be the little girl's guardian. After the events in October 508, she seems to have emerged a bit more self assured and happier. What this is attributed to is anyone's guess, for now.

| Lessons Learned
- Never play coy about sex, the boyfriend often believes you are being serious and gets angry (Well, maybe only the one did)
- Never date a Draughtian, they always blow themselves up (oops... should have reread this first)
- Never punch a Necromancer without giving him due warning first
- Never call your best friend a fishwife, even in jest, it makes her husband angry
- Never tease others about being skinny around a post-pregnant woman
- Never be alone with a knight, even a former one
- Parties in your honor cannot be good things
- Hatpins and brooms can be good weapons
