Caprice Friedrich

Many people are born to humble beginnings, and so was Caprice. It was not a life of depravity. Just simple with very few luxuries. That wasn't her destiny to stay there.

Now a successful business owner from Polaris, she has made her fortune and quite a name among the locals. Her specialty shop named All That Glitters is quite the popular novelty shop marketed to women as a place to browse and socialize as they purchase fancy things. The product line includes sparkle dust for their hair, glittery trim to add to dresses, dishes with smoothed crystals along the edges, jewelry made of more rare gemstones, temporary skin tattoos of gems - really, anything that you can add a bit of sparkle to make it stand out. Men are known to shop there as a place to get something unique for the woman in their life.

Caprice has tirelessly worked to make a name for herself by the time tested principles of taking pride in her work. These days, she's not seen creating the pieces herself as much as hiring those that can do it for her, but very few faults tend to pass her keen inspection.

As her business blossomed into a successful venture, so birthed her charitable community outreaches. Word soon spread that portions of her profit go to help those in need, particularly for people lacking basic necessities.

The combination of quality of work, personal tenacity, charity, and love for finery make Caprice a face recognized in her neighborhood. That seems to be just as she likes it. With that said, it must have come as some surprise to her friends and acquaintances back home when she announced her plans to expand her business into the market of Crossroads City in the middle of one of the Empire's greatest trials the Great Schism. Of course, those that know her well, know this is just the kind of thing she would do, and just the time when she'd do it. After all, she can be more than a little capricious.

476 (October 10) A little baby was born. She was given a name. That's when the story of this woman began. P.S. This date is only for ooc knowledge. Some women do lie about their age!

486 (May) - She began her apprenticeship with a successful Polaris Merchant -- a family friend of her parents doing them a favor. When not attending classes devoted to magical study, she was taught specifics of bookkeeping and business management.

494 (May) - She finished her eight year apprenticeship.

494 (July) - She obtained journeyman status in the earth elemental.

494 (September)- 497 (June) - Caprice went on travels to gather raw materials, tested and sold a few prototypes of her idea, occasionally worked in her former Master's shop, developed a business model and secured an investor for All that Glitters.

497 (December) All that Glitters opened its doors on one of the more heavily trafficked areas of Polaris. It took a couple of months, but soon organized charitable events and galas started putting the little shop on the social map of interesting places to visit.

502 (May) All that Glitters expanded it's product line to include more rare gems as part of their adornments. Some work with jewelry began at this point too.

508 (Nov 1) - Caprice Trillare moved to Gateway shortly after the Great Schism with grand plans to expand her business to a new market. If asked, she was confident that the city needed some new business investors to help bring it back to its former glory.

508 (Nov 7) - Caprice was named First Officer of the Merchant's Guild on Gateway.

508 (Dec 10) - All that Glitters 2 was set to open for official business on Gateway, but some vandals had other plans and the opening was pushed back for repair.

508 (Dec 12) - After a community outpouring of assistance, All that Glitters 2 opened on Gateway. Business has been even more than Caprice expected, but there are no complaints from her. Two days later, she had an Opening Gala in which half of the proceeds of her shop went to charity.

509 (Jan 21) - The official election results were posted announcing her as the next Merchant Guildmistress.

509 (June 2) - In a completely surprise move, Caprice sold her beloved Gateway version of her Mistian shop to Tourmaline Montaigu under rumors of thinking about another new business venture.

509 (June 15) - Not wasting any time, she bought the Grand Theater off of Temple Plaza and renovations started immediately.

510 (Feb Maybe?) - She sold the theater and immediately bought another shop on Keeper North. It's name is Indulgences, and is rumored to be a wine, cheese and chocolate shop.

510 (April 22) - She purchased back her All that Glitters on Gateway. An archway between the two Keeper North shops promises to allow for one stop shopping at both locations.

510 (April 26) - She became engaged to be married to Adalbert Friedrich. They were both trying to break up with each other once and for all that night. Really. They were. They really, really were. There must be a remarkable tale on how she ended up with a big diamond on that left hand.

510 (May 28) - Not wasting any time, the couple tied the knot making her a wife.

510 (June 7) - After announcing the Guild nominees for the next elections, she boarded ship to Nimmin to make the marriage official in that country as well.

510 (June 14-17) - After three more ceremonies on Nimmin, the couple became legally binding in more than one country.

510 (July 10) - With Guild elections completed, she was officially out of the position and on to her new life of marriage and merchant seafaring.

511 (Oct 30) - She took on her newest and most challenging goal to date - Motherhood. Zanzibar Adalbert Friedrich made a dramatic entry after a labor difficult enough to nearly take his Mother's life.

512 (Oct) - On a return trip to Gateway where it looks like Caprice may stay a while, she was named Ambassador of Hennetag. She quickly changed that title to Ambassadoress. It needed a little flare to it.

Caprice is a passionate, often optimistic woman. Anyone that taps into things close to her heart are rewarded with enthusiasm and energy on the topic -- perhaps even to the point that they just want her to be quiet and let it rest. Along those lines, she loves a challenge be it in the form of an obstacle to overcome or a game of cards. Competition ignites an even brighter flame of enthusiasm -- unless it is unwise for her business. Business comes first, after all.

She's an insatiable people person that has a difficult time being alone for any given time, so it may seem odd that she does not have any apparent deep romantic relationships. She loves to laugh and has a quirky sense of humor that seems to appreciate a well-timed pun.

It's also no surprise that she loves finery. Fine wines, clothing, jewelry, weird art, odd colored fabrics, and plenty of shoes grace her lifestyle.
