Angiel Winter
History
The daughter of a warrior of the Arden Vale household, killed in action, his wife a denizen of Spirit’s Settling, Angiel was brought to Arden Vale with the intent of injecting a little noble but healthier blood into the Starling line and wed the sickly Victor. At age seven she was brought to stay in the murky, dire surrounds of Arden Vale. – but rather than wither, the little maid thrived. Her fledgling fire magic was nursed and succoured, brought to full flower by the house mages. She was unimpressed by the sickly Victor, unable to play, unable to practice, instead remaining in his rooms. She took to the out of doors then, and discovered the malcontent Joseph.
They spent much time together. Practising, exploring and discovering the world around them. They learnt to use their magics in conjunction very early on. But...all things come to an end. And soon the young Angiel was left alone in the eerie home as Joseph disappears off to the distant Gateway.
Training
There was little love for the pretty niceties of ladyship. With her intended ill and unable to lift a blade without coughing, Angiel took to learning much more of her gift of fire with Joseph. It was difficult at first, but a necessity she soon came to love. As time went on, she became quite proficient and she and Joseph were often able to steal into the swamps past the wall and get over their heads into trouble - but fortunately out again.
They learned to combine their magics - his wind and her fire.
But he left and she was to carry on her training alone, with only an incompetent sot as a companion.
She kept up her mage training, learning the different spheres as required and attained the level of Master. A lonely woman, she first took on guarding on the Wall as a journeyman, then was eventually declared Mistress of the Wall holding the position for several years before Joseph called her to Gateway to take up a position on his Guard.
It would seem they fell out, for she left suddenly, but did not return to the Wall, nor back to Gateway for over a year.
Now she is back, and oddly on the Guard of Laraine Karagininas. One wonders where her loyalty lies.
Relationships
Victor Starling - There was no love for the previous Lord Starling on the part of the Mistress of the Wall. She in fact despised him. But an agreement is an agreement. With his love for excesses that she had no wish to witness nor indulge, Angiel went to the wall rather than bear witness to his decline.
Joseph Starling - How she feels about the new Lord, it is not certain. They have spent time together at the wall, and as the Mistress, she has a role in his protective detail - even taking it on herself at times.
