A Dark Shadow Passing
IC Date: 2 August 506, RL Date: 26 December 2008
Somewhere between the hour when the first and the second bells toll, a single solitary figure walks the strand of the beach as the tide consumes the glittering stretch of sand. Unaccompanied it moves towards the headland crowning the western edge of the bay, and there remains kneeling until the last stars fade away in the dawn sky.
Coming morning it is noted that only the weary, injured protectress, Briana Helygen, attended upon the Mezelien quarters in the castle after that long, long night.
The Gateway Hunt
IC Date: 2 August 506, RL Date: 26 December 2008
Rumor quickly spreads throughout Crossroads City and then into the Isles of the Hunt of Mists spilling into the very heart of the Isles. Dozens upon dozens of hounds were summoned through the streets of the capital, attacking any that came in their paths, travelling from the southern parts of the city and ending up in Keeper's North.
Among the stories that are circulated are the horrific death of the Merchant Guildmaster's daughter, Daeva Tremere, ripped to shreds by the hounds, the opening of the Isle of Ale by Duke Green Fields as a shelter of last resort for those trapped in the start of the Hunt, the heroic stand of Baron Ethos and others in the City Square, the wounding of several in the Courtyard, including Baroness Destine, and ultimately among the dozens that lost their lives in the Hunt, the female figure that was seemingly the target of the hunt, because upon her death, the Hunt ended.
Even after the completion, the clean up just got started, again, under the guidance of Duke Green Fields, went about the process of recovering the dead and tending to the wounded, with the assistance of others, including Master Cardiff and one of the male members of the Paggion family along with several others.
University Mascot
IC Date: 2 August 506, RL Date: 26 December 2008
It seems that the University was not unmolested during the raid upon Gateway city by those hulking canines. Lady Ravelle Soranus and her guards were seen trying to get people safely out of the Plaza del Arte and into the university shortly before a large hound crashed through the front doors. It sniffed around a bit but took off without painting the cobbles red with the student body. Guardsman Altair Margarelon and Professor Elizabeth Rhone were later glimpsed assisting in re-barricading the broken front of the university to prevent additional invasion.
Cleanup Continues
IC Date: 3 August 506, RL Date: 27 December 2008
Around Crossroads City, the cleanup from the Hunt continues. Shops start to reopen, shopkeepers milling and cleaning up barricades and messes. The wounded from the Isle of Ale have been triaged and moved to either the City Clinic or to the Infirmary. Lady Ravelle Soranus has taken on the grim task of cataloguing and recording the dead, while a group of villagers under the guidance of Master Mathis Cardiff have procured a wagon to start to gather and move the dead to a funeral pyre under construction on the beach, which has hosted many such somber occasions.
Sending Them Home
IC Date: 4 August 506, RL Date: 27 December 2008
Wrapped in emerald, gold, and burgundy silk, a series of bodies were loaded onto a ship in the harbor with all due solmenity, the deceased being returned to Green Fields. The men doing the job have a conversation that carries across the docks.
"Yeah, I'm going along. Duke said we need a tankard of ash to bring back, from each of their pyres. Sent along something for their families, too," one of the men in Fieldian livery comments to a friend. "He or the Duchess'll be visiting them shortly."
The friend answers back with the question, "How many dead, do you know? Did he say?"
"Thirty-nine, current count. Duke said but five of those were Fielders, though it's early and the number could change. The wake that the Duke and Duchess're holding is for all the dead, though. Don't worry, I'll be back for it." The Fieldian man looks toward the ship. "Anyway, best be off. He said it's likely safe now, but I'd take care anyway. Duke said something about Providence-damned mages, so who knows if it's really over?"

A Heavy Burden
IC Date: 5 August 506, RL Date: 28 December 2008
A solemn manner comes over the docks as stock is taken of the situation and those whom have suffered loss begin to grieve. Such was the air as four bodies were brought with every care and interred upon the Tarnished Chalice, the private ship of none other then the Lord Healer's hall, Timothy Crestwood.
"Cap'n says the Baroness gave us tae the Chancellor to ferry these poor sods home," one of the sailors was overheard explaining to his companions. "Said some nice prayer over them 'fore we sealed them below deck."
One of the sailors glances over, cocking a brow. "You done tell me the Captain's gone religious on us now?"
As if in answer to the question, the Lord Chancellor himself appeared upon deck, dressed in mourning and speaking a few final instructions to Lord Healer's Hall. He departed not long after, leaving two of the four Draughtian-liveried men with him on board.
The Tarnished Chalice is set to depart upon the currents now, carrying the bodies of her fellow Draughtens to their final rest at home.

In the aftermath of the devastation that has left countless wounded and dead, a notice is issued forth from the management of the Ocean View Restaurant.
For the next month, all profit from patrons visiting the Ocean View shall be donated to those families impacted by the terrible occurrences just the other evening. Those who have found themselves abruptly without a primary income earner are placed at the top of the list of funds.
In addition to this, the Barony of Crescent Coast will be taking tally of those Mistians affected to offer what assistance can be negotiated back upon the Isle of Mists.
