At the age of 49, Emperor Maximilian dies of a heart attack. Michael becomes Emperor at age 21, preferring to be called by his middle name Jordan. He steps forth and attempts to control the currents. Weak in power, he is supported by the strength of the Imperial Guard and magics of Mogur Imperius, all focused on protecting the health and life of the Emperor.

Emperor Michael Jordan's reign is marked by ill health and, some whisper, insanity, as he attempts to hold the Gate. The currents of the Loch are often unstable, shipping grinding to a halt for weeks at a time. The Imperial Advisor remains at the Emperor's side, in constant vigil. Within weeks of his taking the title, a marriage is arranged with the third-born daughter of a Baron in Green Fields. The addition of Empress Helena Caprios marks the reign of this Keeper with gentle confidence and quickly produces an heir with the aid of potions from Draught.

103 AG. Prince Tomas Caprios born.

Exactly nine months after the Imperial wedding, Prince Thomas Caprios, named for the brother who should have been Keeper, is born.

110 AG. Assassination attempt on the Keeper.

An attempt is made on Emperor Michael's life by the followers of the Lord of the Abyss, taking advantage of the weak Keeper and the Prince who has not reached power. The attempt is foiled by the First Knight and the treasonous followers are tossed into the Loch to drown; however, the wound suffered by the Emperor weakens him further.

116 AG.

Three minions of the Lord of the Abyss break free in another bid to destroy the Emperor before Thomas comes to power. The attempt is foiled yet again by the intercession of the Mogur Imperius and his battle mages, who stand to and fight with the aid of the Imperial Guard and twenty knights from Guardians. Mogur is killed during this battle and his apprentice takes up the name and position of Mogur Imperius.

Draughtian Healers send their most skilled healer to Gateway to care for the Emperor as he grows more and more distant in the mind. He speaks no more, his lips constantly moving in silent chant and conversation with unseen forces. Given the title First Healer, Miss Jenna Hoppus is in constant attendance to the Emperor, as is the Imperial Advisor.

123 AG.

Prince Thomas Caprios turns 20. Stepping out to the beach, he lifts his arms and the currents flow with strength once more, stable and untouched by weakness. Legend says a scream of fury echoed through the Isle on this day.

Emperor Michael Caprios is found dead in the bed he has not left since his reign began. Empress Eleanor steps aside and kneels before her son, and Thomas is crowned Emperor.

The Imperial Advisor is last seen at the funeral of Michael Caprios.

125 AG. Emperor Tomas Caprios weds.

Emperor Thomas Caprios weds Jenna Hoppus in a wedding that is rumored to be the most extravagant in the history of Gateway, the celebrations lasting well over a month. The wedding ceremony and introduction of the bride/groom gift is introduced.

128 AG. Imperial princes born.

The Empire is graced with not one but two princes in one birth. Twins are born to the Emperor and Empress and for the first time in history the power to control the Currents could possibly be held by two Keepers: Prince Sebastian Caprios and Prince Roland Caprios.

129 AG. Princess Noella Caprios is born.

130 AG. Princess Cassandra Caprios is born.

132 AG. Prince Gerard Caprios is born.

148 AG.

At the age of 20, Prince Sebastian and Prince Roland show that both have the power to be Keeper and for the length of their father's reign, the lands of the Empire are quiet and stable. Not even a whisper of unrest is heard from the Lord of the Abyss.

153 AG. Prince Roland and the Emperor die.

Prince Roland and Emperor Thomas are killed during the Celebration of the whale hunt, the Emperor giving his life in an attempt to save his son from being crushed in a strange accident.

Emperor Sebastian comes into power as both Emperor and Keeper at age 25.

Two months after his father's death, the Emperor meets a young girl of 16 tossing flowers into the waters of the Loch. After only an hour of knowing her, he takes her back to the castle and, under the jaundiced eye of his Dukes, marries her on the spot.

Rumor is quick to make the rounds and whispers are heard that the girl, Empress Cherish, is the youngest daughter of the Thieves Guildmaster. After a rocky start and a few badly tossed daggers at the Emperor, their reign is marked by health and wealth, giving even more credence to the rumors that Cherish is the baby daughter of the powerful Master of Thieves.

156 AG. Princess Jolene Caprios is born.

158 AG. Princess Faith Caprios is born.

159 AG. Princess Anneliese Caprios is born.

161 AG. Princess Johanna Caprios is born.

163 AG. Princess Rowan Caprios is born.

162 AG. Draught and Mists work together to ensure a male heir is born to the Imperial family.

163 AG. Princess Jasmine Caprios is born.

Green Fields, Draught, Mists and Guardians petition the Keeper to take a new wife capable of producing a male heir. The Emperor refuses.

165 AG. Princess Allana Caprios is born.

167 AG. Princesses Nina and Ariel Caprios are born.

175 AG. A Prince is born.

The Empire celebrates as Prince Nicholas Caprios screams his way into the world. Already 47, the Emperor concentrates on his son, forcing him at a young age to test his power in case he does not see him to age 20.

187 AG.

At the of age 12, in the company of his older cousin, Lord Vanidor, Prince Nicholas is involved in moving a current and causing ships from Guardian and Draught to collide. As Nicholas does not publicly admit the interference for a good decade, a feud develops between Guardian and Draught, both demanding payment for their losses from the other. The feud lasts for ten years.

197 AG.

Emperor Sebastian Caprios is struck by a stroke at age 69 and is unable to maintain power.

Near the beach, Prince Nicholas finds the small current he is playing with suddenly grows and claim an area just off the beach, creating a fifth current leading from Gateway out to sea.

Sebastian survives but is permanently disabled, his family secluding him from public life henceforth. Nicholas is crowned Emperor.

198 AG.

At the age 26, Emperor Nicholas Caprios takes to wife Marisa, the daughter of the local tavern owner.

Sebastian dies quietly in his rooms and is mourned in private ceremonies of the family.
